We’ve seen a few wedding parties arrive to their Pier ceremony by yacht, sailing past their guests waiting in the Terrace before disembarking underneath The Pier. From the docks you can pop up the stairs directly into your Terrace ceremony where your guests are waiting for you! If yachts and boating is a special part of your relationship, this is an incredible way to start your wedding celebration in a meaningful way!
2. All aboard!
Trains may no longer run down the Pier like they once did in 1850, but that hasn’t stopped a special couple from arriving by train to their wedding day! The Waterfront Train is popular with tourists and locals alike and makes for a fun grand entrance to your Wedding celebration.
3. Get the convoy together!
It’s definitely the most popular way to make an entrance with your entire wedding party! Whether a vintage Kombie is your style, or you go all out with a stretch limousine, making your way down The Pier in a special car full of your wedding party is a lot of fun and makes for a great photo op!
4. It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s you arriving by helicopter to your wedding!
Yep you read that right! With a helipad floating right next to The Pier, and the option to land right on the end of Cunningham Pier, you can arrive by helicopter to your wedding celebration! It’s also the perfect excuse to give yourself that James Bond moment you’ve always dreamed of – we’ll even top it off with a martini waiting for you as you step foot on land, imagine that!
5. Ferry your crew from Melbourne to The Pier!
Our friends at Port Phillip Ferries dock right here at the end of Cunningham Pier, so why not make the most of it with a Ferry ride to start your celebrations! Kick off the party by catching the Ferry from Melbourne to The Pier and enjoy some time with your wedding party, family or guests before the formalities kick-off.
