Local Community & Partnerships At The Pier Geelong
The Pier Geelong works closely with The Gordon TAFE to create opportunity for students to view the facilities and learn from our knowledgeable staff members. We also provide apprenticeships and traineeships in conjunction with The Gordon through our restaurant, Wah Wah Gee.
Sponsorship and support of Not for Profit
We provide vouchers for many local auctions, to support charities, school fetes and fundraisers. Some of the beneficiaries include local Primary and Secondary schools and local charities as well as supporting our local hospitals, both private and public.
We enjoy partnering with charities to host fundraising events at The Pier Geelong. Our versatile venue allows us to grow with the events due to the versatility and capacity of the space. Our sponsorship has included The Bethany Ball, Cystic Fibrosis Ball, Give Where You Life Breakfast, VALID, Daniher’s Breakfast (A fight MND Event), Marcus Oldham’s Dolly’s Dream and more.
Geelong Business Awards Sponsor
The Pier Geelong is a proud venue sponsor of the Deakin University Geelong Business Excellence Awards.
This is a significant focus on considering people living with disabilities in our region, as such we have reviewed our physical environment where practically possible and trained staff to include greater awareness in our venues, both in our handling of guests and our employment strategies. The venues also work with Gen U in providing those with disabilities practical work skill experience in kitchen environments.
