The Geelong and Surf Cost community, including The Pier Geelong, are buzzing after Avalon Airport announced they would soon offer international flights.
So, what does this mean for Geelong businesses and visitors?
The airport is already a popular choice for visitors wishing to explore regional Victoria, being just 15 kilometres from the Geelong Waterfront.
The international flights, set to be operating by late 2018 through Air Asia, will encourage more visitors to the stunning surf coast area.
Business trips, as well as personal holidays, will now become easier to organise with Avalon Shuttlebus transfers through SkyBus Avalon, who have worked hard to offer fast service between Avalon Airport, Geelong, the Bellarine and the Surf Coast.
Those who prefer to leave their car in the Avalon airport car park can do so really easily with reasonable all-day parking rates, and plenty of parking spaces.
It’s all sounding really positive for residents in and around the Geelong area, who have labelled the “Geelong Airport” their own.
The Pier Geelong, a popular choice for corporate events of any scale, are welcoming the increase in Avalon Airport business flights with open arms, commenting the waterfront location makes for the perfect backdrop.
“We love it when Melbourne or out-of-state businesses choose Geelong for their corporate trip. The Geelong Waterfront is one of Australia’s most stunning waterfronts and there is plenty to see and do. Our corporate clients can do amazing activities such as Stand Up Paddleboarding, yoga, cycling, beach volleyball, boat cruises and more.” Tennille McInnes, The Pier Geelong Function Manager.
